The St Aloysius' College Junior School curriculum

School curriculum follow the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, emphasising Catholic social morality. Religious Education, collective worship and prayer more significant than in non-Church schools, and there is preparation for the Holy Sacraments; Reconciliation in P3, First Holy Communion in P4, and Confirmation in P7. The curriculum also includes PSHE, French, Spanish, Italian. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs.

Specialist teachers for sport, art, music, science and computing throughout, and languages from Primary 2.

Sport at St Aloysius' College Junior School

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from Primary 3.

The Arts at St Aloysius' College Junior School

Art and music are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. Drama is part of the co-curriculum. All pupils learn an instrument in class and about one third take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Primary 3. Two choirs, auditions for the whole-school Schola programme in P4, a wind band and a string ensemble. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
