The school has an academically selective admissions policy. It is the prep school to Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School, an all-through school to age 18. School curriculum is based on the National Curriculum with some additions and variations. It also includes PSHCEE, French, Spanish, German. The school offers each pupil between 5 and 10 different extra-curricular academic activities or hobby clubs. In recent years the school has enjoyed national tournament success in chess, maths.

There are regular educational trips for all year groups, visiting speakers, a Year 3 camp in the grounds and residential trips from Year 4. Forest School for all year groups, though timetabled to Year 4.

Specialist teaching

Specialist teachers for sport, music, drama, and RE throughout, and for languages from Year 5. All core subjects are taught by specialists from Year 5.

Sport at Haberdashers' Boys' School, Prep and Pre-Prep

School offers between 10 and 15 different sports over the course of the year. Competitive teams in major sports from Year 3. In recent years the school has enjoyed national success in gymnastics, swimming.

The Arts at Haberdashers' Boys' School, Prep and Pre-Prep

Art, music and drama are taught as discrete curricular subjects to all pupils. All pupils learn an instrument in class and half take extra-curricular instrument lessons from Year 3. Choir, orchestra and several instrument ensembles. There are some extra-curricular creative and performing arts clubs.
